Darlene,
How about a second opinion from another GI specialist?
Peds GI can be hard to find (only about 350 in the entire USA) but in your
area there should be a few.
If this is a cows milk protein allergy the risk of breast milk with cows
milk protein in it would be anaphylaxis. This would be small if the baby
doesnt have signs of IgE mediated allergy and also small as it is with
breastfeding. Problem is anaphylaxis is no fun. So best done in the doctor's
office.
