Thanks to all who responded re plug with the blister on the nipple,
especially Fiona Coombes and Marie Davis -  I printed and saved your posts.

I was reading more about plugged ducts - cabbage leaves may be a useful
treatment. I saw this mentioned in a copy of an article that was in a local
conference binder.  The article is entitled "Cool Cabbage Compresses" by
Wendy Rosier and is in Breastfeeding Review.  Unfortunately no year, volume
no., etc is given.
