1) How low is low on the weight? How big are the parents? Is the child
staying on his/her own growth curve at this point or continuing to fall off?
What is the rest of the child's diet? How have other children in the family
grown? Have other factors been investigated re growth (thyroid, anemia, etc)?

All this is to say, weight alone should not be a criterion for concern. By
getting too hung up on wt alone, we are risking all sorts of problems down
the road. Encourage mom to ask her peds these ?'s. I fear that this may
really represent yet another doc who isn't cool about BF and all its
advantages.

2) Sushi is absolutely not a problem, as long as it's restaurant-prepared,
not home. restaurant sushi fish is speccially frozen to kill parasites. I
believe that there has never bee a case of parasite illness from rest sushi
in yhe US
