I am lucky enough to live about an hour from the Dr. Sear's office! In the
past year I have taken 2 babies up there to have their frenulums clipped. It
was a snap and Dr. Bob (Bill's son) did it both times. The trick to the
clipping (IMHO) is to swaddle the baby nice and tightly, have one person
stand at the baby's head and with 2 forefingers, reach in and hold the baby's
tongue up to the roof of their mouths and the Dr. can clip it very easily and
PRECISELY. Dr. Bob and I did it this way the last time and it was fast.
Much faster than the first time, before I figured out to reach in there and
hold the tongue. This was way less traumatic than a circumcision and made a
difference in both babies.
