Now new problems, everyoone in family must take INH, baby has been
on it mom was on it before, may have to repeat course. My concern now is
baby is having blood streaks in diaper on occasion, looks like "fissure
streaks" 1-2 a day i've tested 3 diapers for accult blood and found neg
health dept tests were negative too. baby has been on combiined or
alternate ABM breast milk feeds due to mom's insec "I can't ever be enough
to my child"....noted is an orange-yellow stool with every feed and a void
w/every feed so supply is not the issue (except to her)....weight gain is
1+ 1b in 2 weeks. I encouraged her to "flush the baby's system of ABM by
nursing or expressing brmilk to give hoping to eliminate the bovine
proteins that may be causing blood ??? somewhere i read or heard that mixed
feedings may cause GI problems and that it's "better if one can't use
exclusive EBM or Brfeed that one should only give ABM in "cases like these"
This concept has arisen from a few Peds GI specialists who have
"identified": "Breast Milk Colitis" What is this Brm colitis to you all
out there ? is this an entity or someone's "brilliant theory" ? is it
backed by studies and tissue samples ? What re: Robert Yolken's work with
mucins and epithelial growth factors ?? how does that come into play ?
Could the INH be causing the blood ? Would INH in baby plus INH in
mom's milk be a double whammy on the baby's gut ???????
