I lost my first baby at 21 weeks, 24 years ago. NOONE said ANYTHING to me about what would happen to my breasts. The day after I went home from the hospital, I was SHOCKED and DISMAYED at the agonizing realization that my milk had come in for my baby that was not there.
There was no internet at the time, so since I had heard of binding breasts to "dry up", that is what I did.

It is cruel not to educate a mother about what to expect and what she can do about it. I would also have appreciated the option to express milk for donation for a while. I think it can really help work through the grieving process for some women.

If you think it would be helpful, I would be happy to speak with whomever is proposing you do not have a place speaking to a mourning mom.
