Jennifer asked "My question is are
there any family issues mothers have to deal, such as jealousy between
siblings due to the amount of breastfeeding time? I wounder this
because I learned that toddlers whom breastfeed get more attached to
their mothers rather than objects like blankets or stuffed animals
(Bruce, 2000)."

From personal experience:

My five year old asks why do I count to "20" when he nurses and my three
year old can nurse longer. My older boy's "suck" is not as relaxing and he
twiddles with my breast and clothes and is heavy.

I do not enjoy nursing two big boys together anymore. And yes, one will
often cry when the other is nursing.

One will say "He has mine...Don't let him get all the milk." or reserve the
otherside for when brother is done.

The youngest usually wakes up first and is still a lingering type morning
nurser. often my other will wake up and say "Take him off now" or "What
about me?"

So Jennifer, there is definately jealousy issues. I have been told my boys
are extremist. They are very good friends also. They probably would of been
worse off, if I was not able to nurse them.
