Re: Zinc supplementation...sorry to politely differ, but there is a side
effect of zinc supplementation--severe nausea and vomiting can occur.  Moms
should be cautioned to take this with food and ideally at night before bed.
This tends to minimize some of the nausea.  Interestingly, some wounds will
not heal until zinc levels are substantially bumped up.  The cert. wound
care specialists have published rates in the 200 mg range, which may be one
reason that the nausea is such an issue.

Another concern might be displacement of other minerals, but for short
periods of supplmenting, I wouldn't worry about this aspect.
