Hello,
I can't remember the sources, but I researched this for myself quite a while
ago. Removing the amalgam does release mercury into the persons bloodstream,
but ifthe dentist uses a "dam" to prevent swallowing of slaiva and particles
during the procedure it significantly reduces exposure. Refilling with white
fillings is then preferred and will also reduce the exposure to more
mercury. They usually cost a little more.
