I don't want to discourage anyone from responding to the Chicago Hope episode,
nor do I want to ignore what I, too, think is an irresponsible, unconscionable
act on the part of CBS and the producers, directors, actors, advertisers,
etc., involved in this episode. And, yes, I think it is important that we
respond and that we prepare ourselves to answer mothers' questions and respond
to the fears that may be raised over this show. However, I think we need to
be aware that the tv execs don't really care what anyone's opinion about the
show is -- they just care how many tune in, how many watch. They will not
count the pros and cons, they will only count the responses they get and then
someone will get a pat on the back. "Good job, Bozo (or whoever is
responsible for the idea/production)! You really pulled in the viewers last
night! What other great ideas so you have?"

So, write, email, or call CBS, but don't expect them to care what you say.
They'll really only care that you paid attention.

Trying to prepare -- much like we did for Hurricane Georges.
