Yesterday I spoke briefly to a mother of 6 month old twins. She has
recently gone back to work and is pumping some milk for the babies
(fraternal- one boy and one girl). Mother said that she is now "more in
to" breastfeeding than before but one of the babies is not co-operating.
They were never exclusively breastfed, probably due to poor advice. Both
now sleep about 10 hours at a stretch, in cribs in a separate bedroom -
so reverse cycle nursing is out. I would like to be able to give her
some good, practical ideas for increasing supply a little and to
encourage the reluctant nurser. I am afraid that if one baby stops
nursing the other one will end up being weaned in short order as well.
