At the large suburban private hospital (130-170births/month) we weigh the
baby at birth , then at discharge(usually after 4or 6 nights depending on
delivery type). The first early childhood visit is usually within a week or
2 and they get a bare weight then.
If at time of discharge a baby has lost equal to or greater than 10%  follow
up is organised and that usually includes a weight in 2 days.
