Keeping in mind that you heard the story third hand and it's nice to give
health professionals involved the benefit of the doubt--blood in feces of
breastfed babies is very common, huh? As is, I suppose, cracked, bleeding
nipples for several weeks postpartum? It really makes sense that nature would
associate a behavior necessary to species survival and join it to blood loss,
increased risk of infection, etc!

I'd probably suggest the mother ask these physicians, whose practices
obviously are research-based (if the story is correct), for there references
re: blood in feces of breastfed babies as very common since the mother and
LCs could find no references in the texts and journals they have available.

What next?!?!?
