Cathy is being very modest. Kerstin Hedberg-Nyqvist, RN, PhD contributed an
entire chapter to Cathy's excellent book "Supporting Sucking Skills in
Breastfeeding Infants." The entire book is a rich feast of "just about
everything you really need to know about infant sucking, all in one place."
When my copy came, I sat down and read it cover-to-cover, underlining and
highlighting new stuff on almost every page.

It can be ordered from the publisher
http://www.jbpub.com/catalog/9780763740375/

Disclaimer: I wrote Chapter 3, "Impact of birth practices on Infant Suck." I
didn't get to read any of the other chapters before the book was released.

Read anything by Kerstin Hedberg-Nyqvist, RN, PhD. In her NICU in
Sweden, the preterm babies actually breastfeed. It takes time for them
to work up to transferring all the milk they need (they get the rest of
their ebm by tube), they need to be stable, and they do get fortifiers
if they are very small and need them, but they breastfeed as early as 28
weeks gestation. She has some wonderful stuff about cultivating feeding
competence in preterm infants (as opposed to waiting for them to mature).
