> I just received a call from Olga Mireles RNC, IBCLC
regarding a patient whom has been diagnosed with a
brain tumor. Her Doctor has advised her to wean so
that she may begin treatment for the tumor. The mom
has an overabundant milk supply and in the last two
months she has weaned the baby from the breast but
continues to pump four times a day due to extreme
fullness. Olga will be comunicating with the Doctor
directly as there seems to be a miscommunication with
Spanish and English translations. Any suggestions for
drying up? Sage tea, Vit B6, other ideas? Olga will
clarify with the Doctor that the mom is not giving the
pumped milk so as no risk to the infant with maternal
medications. Thanks for any ideas, Julie Merrill RNC,
IBCLC French Hospital, San Luis Obispo, Ca.
