Jan, I whole heartedly agree. When Hurrican Opal came through the
Gulf Coast 2 years ago, Mary Elayne was only 6 weeks old. Although
not nearly as devestating as Andrew,we were still without
electricity for 4 days and we had a boiling order for a week. I kept
thinking how unfortunate all those parents and babies were that had
to rely on purified water for their nutrition and how easy it was for
me just to breastfeed my baby. I never once had to worry about
boiling water, finding ABM (which was void on the shelves) or
sterilizing bottles in order to feed my infant. Bottled water was
scarce after day 3 and if it weren't for trucks coming in from the
north, we would have been hurting. (Our water lines were burst on
our dirt streets and weren't repaired for almost a 2 weeks!)
