the baby getting HIV from breastfeeding or she takes the risk of the baby
getting some other disease from NOT breastfeeding . . ."

I agree that it should be the mother's choice.  My point was, given what I
know today, I would not choose to breastfeed my child if I were HIV+, and I
can well understand and appreciate that choice, and even see a potential
benefit to the baby.  I also can appreciate and accept an HIV+ mother's
choice to breastfeed.  I simply believe we don't have the full answer and
HIV just scares me too much.  Maybe its an overreacction and maybe it would
be the wrong choice, but if I had to make it today, that would be my choice.

I am truly thankful I don't have to make that choice.
