I was wondering how to differentiate between a hypertonic baby and one that is just upset or colicky. Do babies who are colicky also arch their backs and push their heads back like the typical picture of a hypertonic baby? Obviously a baby could be both, but which comes first? Are there other signs of hypertonia to look for? Besides the BF challenges, is there any other medical concerns for the family if the baby is hypertonic?

Thank you for your input. I woke at midnight thinking about this :-)
