Laurie and All,

In Dayton Ohio we have come up with a very inexpensive way to celebrate WBW.
Geneva Carnahan has gathered Dayton area health professionals, including LCs
(hospital, WIC and private practice), midwives and LLL.  We have formed a
committee and plan to have a 3 day event at a community health center
displaying what our individual organizations are doing to promote
breastfeeding.  We will have refreshments, door prizes, balloons and free
picture taking of breastfeeding mothers and their babies.  We have invited
the media as well as local politicians.

The community room is free, our respective institutions are donating our
time, and we are soliciting gift certificates for door prizes and film.  We
will be purchasing the balloons and donating the refreshments ourselves.
Flyers will be copied and distributed by the participating committee members.

This is the first year we are attempting something this extensive so I am
sure we will learn from our mistakes.  Any suggestions are very welcome!

The Dayton Area La Leche League will also be having their own event.  There
will be a 1 mile walk (for LLLI's World Walk for Breastfeeding) and a pot
luck lunch immediately afterwards at a local park.  This has been lightly
attended in the past but participation does seem to be increasing each year.
