Hi Cathy,

In addition to mothers who nurse twins and triplets exclusively for many
months, providing not only "adequate" but superior nutrition to each child,
I have known more than one mother who has nursed many singleton children
with one breast. There was an interesting article in Mothering Magazine some
time ago written by a mother who exclusively breastfed twins with one breast
(if I'm recalling correctly).

I would say not only possible but probable. I like what Sam said! I believe
that the best thing that we can do to help mothers breastfeed is to behave
in ways that tell them that they can.

Has this mother breastfed other children? What were her previous experiences
like?
