Has anyone out there heard of "Comfort Shells"? A mom called me asking where
she could get this brand of breast shield (she was visiting from out of
state). She had already been using one but her dog chewed it up. Did not
cause any problems usually seen with constant use of shields.Would be
interested in seeing this.

Has anyone seen or is it possible for a Candida infection to show up first on
the mom's nipples? She denies vaginal yeast infection, breast pain. Baby does
not have visible thrush or diaper rash. At 2 weeks postpartum, she has been
dealing with sore nipples, still has problem with good latching but is
working on it. Her nipples are excoriated, no bleeding, pink nipple with
whitish tips, outer portion of areola is light brown but inner areola is
definitely pink-same color as nipple. Her OB told her pink color was just due
to soreness and suggested not using yeast treatment yet because if it was
definitely yeast it will get worse before it gets better. Mom is going to
give breastfeeding one more week. It it gets any worse she will definitely
stop. Any suggestions?
