What company does La Leche League use for their liability coverage for
active Leaders?

I did an Advanced Google search "lactation" "Professional Liability
Insurance"
The following are what I found on the first several pages:

Most Choice http://www.mostchoice.com/professional-liability-14.html
Scroll down to find Lactation Consultant Professional Liability Insurance

Gini Baker's web site http://www.breastfeeding-education.com/faq.html#8
lists this information for her lactation students:
While UCSD has no relationship with any insurance company, past students
have reported excellent results with Health Providers Service Organization
which can be reached at:
Healthcare Providers Service Organization
159 E. County Line Road, Hatboro, PA 19040-1218

A home birth midwife's website:
http://www.gentlebirth.org/archives/doulnots.html
"I carry Postpartum Care Provider Professional Liability Insurance from
National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, PA an authorized
Representative of Cotterell, Mitchell & Fifer, Inc. out of New York # (800)
221-4904. This does cover all you Doula Services birth and pp. It's about $
50. a year. I haven' t checked out any other options so I would welcome any
feed back. Another Doula out of New Orleans gave me the # a couple of years
ago."
--So maybe they might write for IBCLCs?

Website of BirthSource doula services
http://www.birthsource.com/scripts/article.asp?articleid=31
"Individual Professional Liability Insurance
To our knowledge these are the only groups serving the doula community for
liability insurance. If you know of others, email us!"

Cotterell, Mitchell & Fifer
151 William Street
New York, NY 10038

Or (212) 233-8911

Marsh Proliability
1166 Avenue of the Americas
New York, New York 10036
www.proliability.com
(212) 345-6000
1-800-503-9230
In Canada Call 1-877-466-4632
--Is this the same office of Marsh that everyone is contacting? I thought
there was one in Chicago. Maybe that's the problem: one office will and the
other office will not.

Then again, I hope this case study, which was the first item on the first
page of search results, wasn't a factor in this new insurance problem:
http://www.nso.com/case/cases_area_index.php?id=77&area=Pediatrics
The final award: 80% liability on the part of the hospital and 20%
liability on the part of the parents
I have no idea what company wrote the liability insurance for the hospital.
