This person never read the AAP statement did s/he?
There are even studies specific to viruses such as rotavirus and RSV. Even which components of human milk inhibit rotavirus.
I suggest asking this doc when the last time s/he saw a severe rotavirus in a breastfed baby.
And of course a long term controlled study showing the effects of artificial feeding ala formula is the biggest uncontrolled human experiment ever done.
