Caution: I have not consulted any reference works before posting this.

Since lidocaine has poor bioavailability when taken orally, would the amount
in breastmilk be a concern as long as the baby is only drinking the milk?
Just following the same line of reasoning that makes it necessary to deliver
an effective dose by other than the per os route...
Maybe I wouldn't bathe the baby in the milk, nor inject it IV or IM, but it
seems to me it might not matter if baby's exposure was only in the gut.
