I have had recurring hives for years. I have been told many things by many doctors. Mine come at night as well so I do believe that they are somehow tied into something hormonal. (Not breastfeeding). They also seem to be seasonal, ocurring more frequently during the winter months. I have been told that they sometimes accompany Fibromyalgia (which I have) I take low doses of Benedryl as needed and have tried Zyrtec as well. I can't imagine how they might be connected to breastfeeding and they did not stop when my son weaned himself at 4 years! (He is 18 now).
