Any private practice IBCLCs out there getting regular reimbursement for
consults? I would like to talk to you. I want to do consults private
practice but on referral from a Ped or OB. Gave up on this in the past due
to poor payment from insurance and reluctance of pts to get help if I
wouldn't "Bill the insurance Co." I have established a relationship with 3
providers for reimbursement for pumps( done on a case by case basis) but all
three give the same line when it comes to Lactation Consult: "Not a covered
benefit" I have a billing service who submits claims electronically but I
need a code the only codes I have seen require a physician to see pt also.
Could I bill under a physicians # if i saw the pt in my office after he saw
them in his? I need major help here. I saw someone post earlier on this
subject and wonder if a private email group is in discussion. reply privately
or to the list whatever you think.
