 My daughter was prone to ear infections in her first year and sudden refusal to nurse was typically the first indication.  Once treatment started, she returned to nursing until the last one at 11 months after which she apparently decided she was fine without nursing!.  Refusal of breastmilk in a bottle may not link to this unless the baby associates the taste with ear pain?
