We're a small community hospital so our "keeper premies" aren't much less
than 34 weeks. We have had good luck with nipple shields, too. I have two
delightful little guys who come regularly to New Moms Network with their
moms. One is 8 and one 12 weeks - both born at about 34 weeks GA. Piddly
feeders who did wonderfully with a shield and still nursing now - without
the shield, I will add!
I remember one of the moms cried with joy when we got the baby nursing with
the shield.

It's a great life if you don't falter.

Green Mtn Mama in (once again) snowy southern Vermont and looking forward to
our VLCA spring conference with Paula Meier - late April, we may need
bobsleds!
