Karen, When I lecture on supplementation or evidence-based breastfeeding
management I use my handout entitled, "Supplementation of the Breastfed Baby:
Just One Bottle Won't Hurt---or Will It?" I would be happy to e-mail it to
you if you would like to see it. I have it referenced so that health care
providers can see that there are consequences to giving a breastfed baby even
one bottle of cow's milk based formula, especially before gut closure occurs.
