Star, when I looked at the article mentioned in your below post, several
questions came to mind:

1. Is this the same Elena Medo who was the CEO for the White River company,
manufacturer of breastpumps?

2. Is this the same Elena Medo who threatened some of our most prestigious
Lactnetters? Was it for not including her products in a list of quality
breastfeeding equipment?

3. Is this the same Elena Medo who threatened an ILCA affiliate when it
removed her company as a reputable breastpump manufacturer on its resource
list because she went into business with Ross Labs and produced a CHEAP
breastpump to distribute in WIC? A breastpump that had the Ross Similac
logo placed on the pump so that the user would be staring at it all during
the time while pumping. Very clever!

4. Is a for-profit company going to provide breastmilk so that women don't
have to bother breastfeeding their own babies or pumping their own milk?

If the answer is yes to any/all of the above questions, I have to wonder
if/why Dr. Ruth Lawrence is lending her support to Prolacta. Did the
non-profit milk banks not meet the need for donor milk? The non-profit milk
banks certainly have demonstrated high-level ethics in providing their milk
to those who need it, and understand/promote the importance of breastfeeding
by the baby's own mother whenever possible or at least providing mother's
own milk whenever possible.

Anyone know the answer to any of those questions? Please, if you respond,
be careful of how you word your response...sue-happy people might be
watching.
