Hi, My name is Betty. I've been sitting quietly by for a few months reading
everything on Lactnet and learning a lot. I have been encouraging and
supporting mothers to breastfeed for 14 yrs. and last July became certified
as a LC. I'm an R.N. working on a maternal/child unit in central Maine. I
also help out our current LC at the hosp. in my spare time! I almost have
administration convinced to transfer my RN hours over to LC hours so we can
have LC coverage every day of the week! We do about 80 births/month and have
a 75% bfing rate.
Now for my question. Are there any contraindications to breastfeeding with
breast implants? The LC I work with thought she read somewhere that they
caused problems with the esophagus in the baby. Thanks in advance for your
help.
