I would probably provide the American Academy of Pediatrics statement on
breastfeeding and the use of human milk. It has extensive references and
the working group of AAP studied them all. I might respond with "you are
right that nothing is a panacea. Even fresh air and clean water will not
guarantee perfect health, for example, if a strong genetic tendency to a
certain disease is present. However, the evidence is overwhelming that
breastfeeding and human milk are the gold standards when it comes to infant
nutrition and stacking the odds against infections." (quote from the AAP).

I think this doctor is biased and perhaps had a failed bf experience
herself. She is likely thinking of the research about bf to 4 mos or bf to
6 mos and preventing allergy or asthma. Not all the studies came up with
same conclusions. She might also be thinking of studies advocating the use
of fortifier, for example, for very low birthweight babies or premies,
indicating breastmilk alone does not provide enough protein and some
minerals. Most peds and neos feel this way. She is taking those studies and
not accepting the overwhelming evidence that the AAP delineates.
Not much you can do after that. I would politely say, " we agree to
disagree" if it goes any further.
