Yes, I'm here. ;-)
I would not advice to express or pump for mild transient engorgement in early lactognesis II, but give the body time to figure this supply and demand thing out for itself. But if engorgement is severe (hard breast tissue, maybe red-ish coloration, tense to the touch) and baby can't handle the flow I'd rather sooner than later move on to the complete drainage, for the earlier applied the sooner it seems to resolve. ''Mrs S'' in my article is one example of that.

I will be at the VELB/ILCA conference in Basel next month speaking on this topic (as well as present 2 posters)

Warmly,

Gonneke, IBCLC in PP, LC lecturer in southern Netherlands working hard to meet all deadlines this and next months for speaking appointments ... and not having time for Lactnet, but can't do without ... ...

The research suggests that oversupply is best dealt with, by full draining of the breasts:

Overabundant milk supply: an alternative way to intervene by full
 drainage and block feeding

This article is widely known and distributed across the Net, and is constantly cited.  Therefore the poster may be discussing this excellent resource, on how to deal with overabundant milk supply.  I've suggested it myself, and in all instances, it has been a life saver!  Well, a tissue saver.  :-)

Gonneke may comment herself, as she in in here.  :-)

Anyway, tonight i was answering a post regarding a mother who was experiencing some engorgement and she asked about pumping. My response was that she could use reverse pressure softening to make it easier for the infant to latch and hand express milk if she needed to for latch or discomfort issues. I said that pumping would increase milk supply. I also explained that engorgement is not just due to milk but also extra fluid and blood.
