<< The best way to avoid cracked nipples is to learn how to breastfeed
your
baby so that he is properly "latched on" and to learn how to properly
use
your breast pump. >>
So, we assume all women will be using a pump?

<<As you are learning, if you do experience nipple cracks use Blistex to
heal
them until the baby arrives.>>

So, is the mother supposed to be "learning to use a pump" before her
baby
arrives???? Why does a mother have cracked nipples before giving birth?

Jennifer,

The site you are referring to is an adoptive mother's breastfeeding
site. It is a pretty good one! And yes, ALL the moms are supposed to be
pumping before they get their babies. I think that the site was
developed as the result of one very dedicated adoptive mom's experience.
You really should look at the whole thing before you write to her with
your complaints. This is the only site I have found that details the
hormonal treatment for moms wishing to bring in a supply... and links to
Jack Newmann's page on that subject. It even tells moms how to order
dromperidone across state lines. This woman is serious about
breastfeeding her adoptive babies!

Just a reminder not to take things out of context!

Susan
