Well said, Jennifer.

And hey, I'm American, living in the US, and the new requirements
effectively ended my prospects for taking the exam. The vast change in
requirements is a worldwide problem, as far as I'm concerned.

Amy West, CLC (who was 165 clinical hours toward sitting the exam via
Pathway 3 when the requirements changed and my mentor opted not to
recertify, leaving me mentor-less and ending my plan to sit the exam in
2011. Hence the 'CLC' after my name, that will likely never expand to
'IBCLC' after the change in requirements between 2011 & 2012!)
