* The decision to bf together or separately belongs to the mother and
the babies, and not to the hcp. Some babies do better together, others
better separately. Bf together does not guarantee any savings of time;
if a mother is not bf one baby or the other she is no doubt doing
something else with the babies anyway. It may cut down on waiting, but
that can also be solved by figuring out how to pick up the second baby
when one is already latched.
* Getting comfortable is a challenge. A mother may feel more comfortable
nursing and sleeping semi-reclined rather than lying down. Lots of
pillows, a stool, etc. are even more helpful with more babies. Be
patient; positioning is a learning experience.
* In-arms time is really important. In order to ensure that both babies
get lots of cuddle and holding time, a nursing corner -- it is a good
idea to have one place where everything is within finger-tip reach
(because arms are full of babies)
