Valerie, Is GRAS considered "approved" then? Or is it a preliminary status?
Can we say that these substances are "approved, but unproven;" or that
they are "not approved?" I want to show that they are not approved, but I
see GRAS everywhere, which looks like approval. I understand that it may
not be clear cut, and that it may be the best thing to show what GRAS
really means. Is it appropriate to say that they have "GRAS Approval only?"
Does this lead to each person interpreting the GRAS status in whichever way
suits their purpose? When one can say that they are "not approved" it
sounds so much more definite. It looks like the rules are being loosened to
the point that they are worthless anyway, so everyone is on their own. Then
all we have to go on is opinion. Thanks, Judy
