Breastfeeding has certainly burst into the public consciousness
in the wake of the tragedy - what will be in the long run I do not
know. It
will be interesting to see the statistics next year for bf starts and
continuation. Remedia is opening up again and feels it will be able to
build
up it's market..........................which may tell the whole story.

Keeping the story in the news may help keep bfing in people's minds.
Follow ups on the families, remembering the yahrzeits (anniversaries of
the deaths) in appropriate ways is something news media folks do on
other types of stories. This was a big story.
Of course, keeping track of the legal follow up on Remedia will
probably also happen. If news folks could be persuaded to include
something about bfing in these article, whether it is current interest
in bf, or bf rates, or bf benefits or whatever, all that would help
keep this in people's minds and keep bfing there as a viable option,
not just other brands of formula!

That's a lot of work for the bf advocacy community, but fostering
relationships now with the people working on these stories, who are
likely to be the ones following up on them could be beneficial. Letting
them know you are available with expertise should they want to call you
for an article. A steady stream of press releases, that sort of thing.
How well organized is the bf community in Israel?
