Jennifer,

Two statements -- rather, one is a question: what is APPPAH. Two: please,
please send your post to IBLCE. In fact, to all of you who are as appalled
by this travesty, please copy your posts to IBLCE and to ILCA. You can send
it to: [log in to unmask] (mailto:[log in to unmask]) . Jennifer, you posted
most eloquently.....

I'm not sure who the ILCA rep to IBLCE is currently, but I suggest your
letter be copied to her as well. Does anyone else know? Interesting that IBLCE
doesn't post the names of their Board of Directors on the website....

I'm up for recertification in July. My 20 years. Maybe. I'm seriously
wondering about this. I suspect my moms would be much better served if I was
not an IBCLC, following the dictates of the IBLCE.

This "scope of practice" is radically changing my thinking about whether or
not being an IBCLC is how I want to spend my sunset years -- worrying about
whether or not I'm going to be threatened to have my certification stripped if
I dare tell a mother that her physician gave her incorrect information.
