I was just reading and thinking about the posts concerning jaundice
babies that are bottlefed for a while, then put back to the breast. With
the ones that go back easily- I'm not so sure it is because they are
"experienced".
I've had several mothers with yeast that was so painful, they decided to
pump and bottlefeed until nipples healed. Many of these babies never
went back to the breast. Most often, the onset (or diagnosis) of yeast
symptoms was after a week or two of decent nursing, pumping only lasted
a few days, but baby still wouldn't go back.
Or, is it because the babies were still getting mom's milk, but in a
bottle, where jaundiced babies get ABM?
Maybe jaundice does cause "amnesia". My son was put on ABM starting on
the second pp day, lasted A WEEK (oh, I wish I knew...!), then went back
to breast well, his bili only got up to 13.9.
