Maureen,

I have seen this commercial and unfortunately the way I took it was not in
the most positive light. I took it as a representing a woman being smarter
in sports than the man had expected considering she was nursing. I think
she was supposed to be just this object doing "woman's work" and the man was
surprised that she had more going on than that. I am hoping I
misinterpreted that but judging from the majority of sports programming, I
didn't. I am constantly amazed at the misogynist attitude of sports
programming and sports magazines.

Subject: Fox Sports Channel-did anyone see this commercial?

I'm probably the only one on the list watching a Kansas State versus Iowa
football game on aSaturday afternoon. Actually, I was being "held captive",
nursing my youngest on the couch while DH watched the game. I don't know
if any of you have caught this commercial on the Fox Sports Channel but it
is for a new show called "Sports Geniuses" on said network.

Here's the scene: A young man (20s) is sitting across from a nursing mother
on a train. The top of the mother's shirt is unbuttoned and the top of her
breast is exposed and she is nursing an older infant. He is looking at her
with a bewildered look on her face (maybe he's thinking, oh so that's what
their for?). Then she asks him some sports trivia question. Don't call me
a genius because this is yet another commercial where I just "don't get it".
Did anyone else see it? I didn't quite know how to take it because it took
me off guard.
