Dear all,

hello to all who might remember me from before, my work situation has
changed again so I have been lurking on the list for the last few weeks.
Just thought I'd put in my 2c worth on this one.

Speaking from other expertise the whole thing about cow's milk increasing
mucous is a furphy. Without being able to quote references (always a
dangerous thing to do) there have been a number of papers about this topic
which found no significant difference between children based on whether they
had milk or not assuming that they didn't have some intolerance to the cows
milk in the first place. I personally suspect that given all the people who
have been exposed to dairy products before they were immunologically capable
of dealing with it, it is hardly surprising that this one keeps popping up
it's head.

Giving medline a quick look would suggest that this "truism" of life
reflects a mild response to allergens in cows milk - ergo giving breast milk
shouldn't create such problems although I didn't find anything directly on
topic. I suspect that some of the things I'm thinking of are local small
papers.

yours
