Sounds like it could be a dysphoric milk ejection reflex.  It happens with BF too.

I recently had a mom in the NICU ask me why is it that every time she pumps she wants to cry?   (her baby is 29 weeks, now 3 weeks old)  She did not indicate there is anything specific that makes her want to cry.  Any thoughts
