i'll even 'rest' the breast (area below the areola) on the baby's bottom
lip/jaw once baby is open a bit, then when baby opens fully, it's almost
like both wrists pivot to bring the baby's upper jaw/nose in while
simultaeously, the hand holding the breast pivots a bit to barely get
that top nipple it (it practically folds backwards as it's going in,
then pops into the baby's mouth just past the top gumline)

When i'm showing a mom how to hold her breast for this latch, the
'leading edge' that's going into baby's mouth is usually the line where
the areola meets breast tissue on the side of the breast that's closest
to the baby's chin. she's also shaping the breast into a nipple
sandwhich, but with the nipple pointing up to the baby's nose.....her
supporting fingers (index through pinky) are waaay back from the nipple,
and her thumb is pretty close in.

yes, and it's very exaggerated ime....

very much so. and i like it b/c there's no RAM (which i hate and think
is really always inappropriate) and there's no fussing....it's not fast
and furious but calm and smooth - b/c really it's a very small movement
since baby's chin is already right there....
