I am respectfully asking this question. Does bodywork really work, or do babies improve over time with attention to other techniques typically taught by IBCLC’s (improve the positioning and latch, improve the milk production, etc). If we were to do some studies, with one group of babies (intervention group) having bodywork (unseen by parents) and the other group not having the bodywork (taken into a room unseen by parents), and compare over several weeks – would the intervention group significantly improve over the control group? Just wondering and I think a study would be beneficial, although I wouldn’t want to give my baby to someone when I couldn’t see them. Would have to be a trustworthy person or some such research set up.
