A mom called me at 9 days pp and said that her right breast had become soft the day before. She reports that on day 3 she experienced bilateral fullness and her milk became more plentiful. She says that she has nursed her baby on both breasts equally, but that on day 8 she noticed that at feeding time only one breast seemed full and the other was soft. She says that she was able to manually express some milk from the "soft" side. Her baby is having more than adequate output and is back to birth weight already. She denies any surgery or trauma to either breast. I did give her information on encouraging her milk production on the "soft" side. Just wondering if anyone else has heard of something like this? I will follow up with her in a couple of days. She did give permission to post her situation. Hoping that what I suggested will work for her, but if not, I wanted to have more info to share with her. Thanks!
