Alicia, Jean, Diane, Dee and fellow Lactnetters,

Thank you so much for your replies. Great suggestions -- especially the one
about checking the Archives (dah!!! Sometimes we just jump in and ask instead
of using our best resources! Thanks for the reminder).

We have approached many of your suggestions at one time or another. We may
have a solution to this problem at hand - at least I hope so. Early on, this
baby was high need and Mom had noticed that his limbs were never relaxed but
somewhat stiff instead. I had suggested that the mother might possibly
consider cranial sacro massage. Mom did not act upon the suggestion.

Mom called me today to tell me that she took baby to a DO/Cranial therapist.
Mom said that she brought home a new baby! DO said that she thought that
another 2 to 5 treatments might take care of a good deal of the reflux.
Apparently the plates at the back of baby's head are pinching the nerve that
controls throat, esophagus and stomach. Baby was also out of alignment.
Once the adjustment was made, his limbs relaxed. He even took a nice long
nap this afternoon. Mom is very hopeful and frankly, so am I. The DO also
found the baby to have a hernia! Mom had pointed out an abdominal bulge to
the 2 peds she has taken baby to previously. She said they ignored her
concern. Arggggggh!

Thanks again for your input. I'll keep you updated.
