People who eat clay, starch, and dirt may be mineral deficient, especially
iron or trace minerals.  The patient should probably have a medical workup to
include iron, zinc, selenium levels & maybe other trace mineral measurements,
as well as a lead level (some dirt is contaminated with lead).
