In my experience After birth pains last for about two weeks, and I found that
using a heating pad and otc medications helped, in the begining (during the
first week I took a perscribed medication)  I didn't notice it at all with
first but for the next four it was a little hard, but didn't last.  Well
worth the pain, just like childbirth.  We have a healthy baby.  Each day it
gets better.  Hope this helps.
