This might be slightly off the topic, if so, please forgive.
Breastfed toddler, 22 mos, had lead level (from home renovations) of 42 last
fall, treated with megadose iron, dropped to normal.  Retested this summer, as
lead often released from stores in the summer, was elevated again.  MD
suggested q8h chelation therapy (iv) for 5 days.  Mom is concerned.  Is
willing to have child treated, but feel 3 times a day may be a bit much for
her toddler in terms of leeching other minerals from her body.  She would of
course move into the hospital with her little one to continue breastfeeding.
Any feedback?
